The $4,000,000 Space Elevator Challenge - Sponsorship Information

When multiple laser-powered Space Elevator climbers fly up a 1-km raceway this summer at NASA's famous Dryden Flight Research Center, most all of your technology-aware customers will see the video coverage - live on NASA TV, through our webcast, twitter log, or through the infinite number of re-runs offered by YouTube. On the internet, good video content never dies. By supporting us, your brand can be promoted on the most positively-viral event of the year.

If your customers are interested in photonics, nanotechnology, aerospace, or are just plain tech-curious, we offer a very effective and focused path into their hearts and minds. What you get

  • NASA TV: Game coverage will be produced by NASA TV, and aired on its public channel (available as DirecTV Channel 238).

  • Local, National, and International Media: The Space Elevator never fails to capture the media’s attention. The cinematographic impact of laser-launched Space Elevator prototypes against Missile Row will be irresistible, and the images will propagate far and wide.

  • Webcast and blog: The competition will be livecast and blogged in real-time. When the games are over, the blog and YouTube entries will remain searchable forever, still with your sponsorship message.

  • Documentary: BJC, a Chicago production team, has been following us since the last games for a 2-year documentary film, which is being pitched to sci-tech channels including Discovery and NOVA.

  • Web sites: The Spaceward Foundation web site will feature information ahead of, and following the games, as will SpaceElevator.com and SpaceElevatorBlog.com. Internet coverage of Space Elevator events is always extensive in Tech oriented internet sites.

  • On-site signage: Sponsor signs will be located at the launch area, where they are visible in most camera angles.

Notes

  • Visual and vocal references are part of the video stream, so they appear wherever the stream is played. Each impression lasts 10 seconds, minimum rotation period is 15 minutes. Impression included logo and text message.
  • Banners are full size-horizontal, and will appear under the webcast when viewed on our web site. They are clickable.
  • On-site sponsor representative will have access to news media covering the event.
  • Web site sponsorship will remain active at least 6 months after the competition date.
  • On-site signage will be located on the structure from which the climbers are launched.
